May Community Poem 2025
May I please perceive the glance of your eyes?
Merely to exchange that message that says that I am real
and you are real.
May I
draw your gaze to this human form sitting
slumped over there, weary, disheveled,
threadbare, with eyes unfocused?
May I please
most humbly suggest that your very next act
—any next act—will express a miracle?
May I bring peace and light to all beings.
May I find meaning in the breath of believing.
May i live in love and guarantee that happiness
wells up from inside of me.
I am the spring that has sprung a leak sending
blessings out over everything.
May I have just a little time to think about it?
May I suggest that we all put down our tools for
one day this month and say loudly "GENERAL STRIKE"
in order to bring down this fascist regime and all its
cohorts, collaborationists, appeasers and enablers?
May I travel faster than the speed of light
and fly in anti-gravity as simply as I walk?
May I help make this little spec in the universe
we call our planet a beautiful, cool and
excellent one?
May I invent clothes
than can clean themselves?
No! No! There’s no need to ask.
I must! I must do with you too…
May I walk between the fog
hidden hills, close and quiet,
slow steps carrying me.
May I please
yes you may,
you’re not far away.
Maybe face time screen time
lets not squander the moment
let us remember
we have been given another day…
May I just try to say this about that
and not be called to task over the details
if you disagree? May I just listen to you
and you to me so that we both operate
on the same information. Let May in
without preconceived notions and listen
to the music of Spring, and the noise
that’s just noise going off all around us.
May I call you my friend even though we
haven’t spoken in years. We used to be so close,
but life has moved on and we are so busy that
we can never seem to find a time and place that
works for us, like we used to.
May I please, yes you can
all you do is scan the horizon
for morning light, lets not let go
of our dreams, let us remember
we have worked toward place and plan…
May I please, yes you will
if you realize it still
maybe childhood, your youth.
May I Please love you into June,
every June—and you me.
May I see it all clearly.
May I walk into the valley.
May I climb over the ridge,
find what I have I lost.
shed what I don’t need.
May this world, this life sparkle in a new light.
May I please FINALLY break the tightrope
And trip madly into the beautiful turquoise
Burning ascendantly by the second
As true reality sings “Aeterna”
And its black mouth swallows whole
The non-believers?
May I please, yes you will
if you realize it still
maybe childhood, your youth.
Let’s not exhaust passion,
let us remember
we have but one life to fulfill.
May we please live it?
